Cologne (Day2) Musik in der Liturgie

One of the top 10 sights in Germany (ranked by Lonely Planet) will be the Kolner Dom. It's the largest cathedral in Germany and it holds the remains of the 3 kings, Shrine of the Three Magi, who came on camels to bethleham where Jesus was born. However, it's behind the main altar and not accessible to the public.

This Dom began it's building in 1248 and was half finish 300 years later. Napolean's troops used it as a horse stable and a prison and thus the creepy feeling you will get when you climb up the narrow spiral staircase of 533 steps. Quite a workout for the average person! I was fortunate to experience their service (All in german, boring nevertheless). After which, we went to Ludwig Museum which held some works of Picasso, art pieces of all genres (traditional to the fucking warped type), plenty of nudes, and the whole place IS HUGE. You can spent up to 4 hours in the Ludwig Museum.

Afterwards we went to the Chocolate Museum!! Vastly different from the previous two places, the chocolate museum was more like Charlie and the chocolate factory (without the loopas)

This is another good trip. Berlin this weekend!!!

Cologne (Day1)

So week 3 adventure begins. The Hattenheim gang (plus Deepika from NUS) went to Cologne last weekend. We took 3 hour train ride to the Original City of the Nutcracker and there was a PRADADE!! WOOT!! People were dressed in toy soldiers costumes, playing in a band and marching into various pubs to drink!! HAHAHA(what else do you expect? They are Germans!) Met up with Wince, Christine, Alice and her friend in the night for more drinks. haha

Frankfurt

EBS was nice enough to give us a free tour of Frankfurt. I signed up for the architectural one. However, 99% of the time we were on the bus so taking nice pictures is close to impossible. Tony, Marcus, Jiawei, Elaine, Loreen, Jia Ying and I stayed in Frankfurt after the excursion in a hotel. Pretty cheap squeezing 7 people in a single room. =)We visited 2 Jewish museums (getting educated about the Nazi and the crazy massacre). After that, we headed down to a food market and experienced German 'wet' market shopping! Last stop, we went to a cathedral to take some pictures. FREAK i got to remember the names of the places of where I went...

Anyway, it was a great trip. I like german wurst, but I feel that their curry wurst should be more spicy. And this was week 2
